We have tried washing with mild soap and water, spraying with Pledge, putting it outside with drawer and doors open; nothing works. Any suggestions?A nice unit. As brought up by others, the drawer design is not good. Ass soon as you start to pull it out, it droops down. (see pictures) since my wife did not want the second towel rack, I used the parts for that Plus 4 1-1/4" srews to put a spacer on the back of the drawer. (This can be done after it is all together) I screwed the brackets to the back of the drawer. If you do this Make them 7/8" higher than the back of the drawer. After I did this the drawer stays level when pulling out and it stops when pulled all the way out. If I was designing this, I would make the back of the drawer 7/8 " taller. If you want to do it and not use the towel rack, you could just attach a board to the same spot across the back of the drawer and make it 7/8" higher than the back of the drawer. Other than this, it was easy to put together. ( pay attention to where the metal plates are on the doors, they go on top, when you put the doors on)Looks really good once built. Sturdiness of this is okay. We are using it as a coffee bar so we do not have much on it. While putting it together one the legs broke. We were able to fix with wood glue. The other thing is the drawer falls down when you pull it out. We are only keeping lids in it so not a huge deal for us personally.This comes with each piece and panel numbered and with identity tags. It takes one person around two hours to assemble but it’s an easy guide to follow!Suggest adding some wood glue to your joints andTowel railingsThe only design fault is you need two 7/8 th inch height by 10 inch runners to put under the top which will stop the drawer falling down as it slides more than 8 inches out!But for that would be 5 starsAnd finally the top is imitation marble made from composite board. It may be your thing but for me I am going to get a marble top made and put that on for a 10star lookOrdered to hide my recycle bins from my pets. My kitchen is small and this fit perfectly into a small area.The overpowering chemical smell is very strong when the box is first opened. I've had the cabinet in my kitchen for over a week and there is still some odor from it but only when I open the drawer or doors.It took my husband about an hour to put together.I only wish the top drawer had more support like other reviewers have commented on.This little island storage is looks cute and sturdy. I liked the marble pattern on the top and bun legs… easy to assemble it took max 30 mins…Looks great in the kitchen. Very easy to assemble, good value, drawer could be a little sturdier..
